Hello Michael,

not sure if you remember me - Evan Kuz, graphic designer in Winnipeg - anyway, I'm not trying to get you to check out my lastest website or blog! I'm going to be in NYC later next month, and would love to know if there's anything 'design related' you'd suggest to add to my list of places to visit/things to see. I already know about the Tim Burton show, so that's definitely on my list. I also have a love of architecture and photography and really good iced mochas. I'm likely staying in the Times Square area, or possibly by the old World Trade site.

I hope all is well, I keep reading and enjoying your blog when I can.

To whom it may concern:

Hi, I'm Christina Pfeffer. I work at the Cincinnati Art Museum and we currently have two exhibitions that I think would interest you, and your readers.
First, is China Design Now, straight from the Victoria and Albert, London (were it was organized), and Ryan McGinness, Aesthetic Comfort.
China Design Now takes the visitor through three cities:
Shenzhen (Frontier City): graphic design, from the early 1990s to the present day
Shanghai (Dream City): fashion and lifestyle, from the mid-1990s to present day
Beijing (Future City), architecture and urban planning, from 2001 to the present day
Young Ho Chang designed, from MIT's architecture department, this journey giving the exhibition space a very "otherworldly" feel that fits with the very modern design coming out of China.

You may have already heard of Ryan McGinness's work, and if so you have probably watched as his work became more and more layered. This exhibit combines his now extensive use of layering and application of very saturated colors with an incredible installation; the pieces go off the canvas onto the walls, which are painted black, and the entire room is black-lit. When walking in this exhibition it feels as if one is entering a psychedelic circus of color, and light, that people of all ages will enjoy.

I hope this has sparked some interest in our exhibitions, and our museum. If you'd like to come visit, I'd be happy to arrange for some complimentary tickets to the China Design Now exhibition. The McGinness exhibit and our general admission is always free.
